Cross Of Iron is one war film that will win order viewings to truly enjoy all the material. With that said, I won’t interpret on the film’s strong points since they’ve already been mentioned by many before. And this DVD release from Hen’s Tooth is not the one to idea this film from. It is a shortened edited version and the transfer is Full-Frame, it doesn’t even appear to be Pan & Scan…simply a stupid shot down the middle of the film. The quality of this Hen’s Tooth release is absolutely corrupt for the DVD format. It appears as though it’s almost a VHS transfer, or a heavily dilapidated film transfer at best. There are numerous scratches and dust artifacts, and the color saturation is very customary in many scenes. The sound on the DVD is equally bad during the entire movie, it’s very hard to understand remarkable of the dialogue at times.

I’ve purchased bargain DVD’s for $3 before that are 100% better in quality than this! Unprejudiced by the sheer fact that the film is edited would have Peckinpah rolling in his grave. Hen’s Tooth knows and have admitted that the transfer is wicked, yet they composed charge $30 retail nearly 4 years after their DVD release?!?? There is no draw that this disc is worth that grand money. I would gladly pay the designate if it was a Criterion edition, but not this abominable edition.

If you have the technical capability I recommend ordering either the UK DVD or Japanese DVD of Disagreeable Of Iron. It won’t cost you distinguished more (perhaps less) than this unworthy Location 1 DVD release. The imports both point to the film in it’s unique anamorphic widescreen format, with vastly genuine report and sound. If you don’t have the technical capability, then hold a VHS edition of Harmful Of Iron.

5 stars for the film itself, 0 stars for the Hen’s Tooth DVD…hence my 4 star rating.

Cross Of Iron is a masterpiece, one of the greatest anti-war, anti-authoritarian movies. It is one of director Sam Peckinpah’s two finest works — the other being The Wild Bunch. It deserves to be ranked in the same vast war movie company as Apocalypse Now, Das Boot, Beefy Metal Jacket, Paths Of Glory, Saving Private Ryan, Seven Samurai, and Zulu. Its setting on the World War Two Eastern Front, its gruesomeness, and its risk-taking viewpoint on monstrous combat from the German side, have tended to count against graceful assessment of its mighty artistic achievements. Viewers wary of the morality of its German viewpoint and its explicitness might net that it is fundamentally about humanity in general as a victim of war. The film reflects on the humanity which may be found on all sides of conflict–including Russian humanity portrayed variously as relentless, innocent, doughty, and feminine.

Cross Of Iron opens with an intense, chilling montage of nursery rhyme, propaganda, combat newsreel and atrocity. By the slay of the main title the montage subtly introduces the central characters, a German reconnaissance unit patrolling on the 1943 Russian front.

This 1977 film plot rarely matched standards of cinematic mayhem. Base Of Iron explosions don’t glance merely like dazzling fireballs — they blast fragments, rocks and debris, leaving no doubt as to why blood gouts from stumps of limbs and shrapnel-shredded entrails… Amid the screams of wounded and dying, as dust subsides from a mortar barrage, an artillery section shorn of its crew by a come hit swings across a pocked battlefield, its traversing wheel spinning under its bear momentum. The carnage occurs in the choreographed dead motion which Peckinpah made his signature.

James Coburn turns in one of his finest roles as Rolf Steiner, a highly decorated NCO who leads a German reconnaissance squad. Steiner fights less for his country than for his comrades. He has indecent opinions of class and despicable distinctions. He is contemptuous both of Nazism and the aristocratic Prussian arrogance of his fresh worthy officer, Captain Stransky, played with mountainous style by Maximilian Schell. But there are hints of a shaded side. Although Steiner is affirm and philosophical he has no acknowledge when his worship interest during an enforced demolish from battle, nurse Eva (Senta Berger), bitterly accuses him of being stunned of what he would be without the war.

Among the many splendid supporting performances, James Mason plays the war-weary Colonel Brandt. He sees the immorality and futility of German war aims, but his sense of honour and duty about the prevailing struggle makes ceasing to fight unthinkable. David Warner plays Brandt’s out-of-place and out-of-time adjutant, Captain Kiesel, who represents to his colonel the hope that a more enlightened postwar Germany might arise from the ashes of inevitable defeat.

War movie buffs irritated by the technical inaccuracies favorite in many examples of the genre will win some satisfaction in attention to authenticity of weaponry. A range of kindly WWII German and Russian microscopic arms appears. The T 34/85 tanks are staunch, although the very picky might argue that this is at least six months premature, and that for the summer of ‘43 they should be T 34/76. Tactics at times deviate from the textbooks, but this is a drama, not a combat manual.

Cross Of Iron is a five-star movie. The Hen’s Tooth Video release is a two-star DVD, with sub-standard characterize and sound. But it is worth owning while this grand film of a tall American director lacks the high quality collectors’ edition Zone 1 DVD release it deserves.

Watching the last DVD of the Gunlock series was a relief and a let down. Relief because the series was getting lifeless. A let down and this is a SPOILER, they 1) Never Got to India (the west) ; 2) They never fought Kou and his gang for the ultimate winner of the Scripture; 3) They never let us know what the crazy lab scientist was getting to; 4) The Gyumoah guy was never revived or killed. I believe if a few of these had happened I deem I would have been contented. All those episodes with Hazel and Gato could have at least got them closer to at least one of the conclusions but that was not the case. If your a fan of the current series then RENT this third season.

First of all, “Don” is an famous film for Indians because it is a unique remake of a 1978 cult classic starring Bollywood narrative, Amitabh Bachchan, but I’m confident that this up-to-date Don will also appeal to an English/American audience which is plain of the usual loud, hard-core Hollywood action-suspense blockbusters. Engage a bit of 007 James Bond, Tom Skim and Mission Impossible, mix with sophisticated Indian song and dance routines and some indispensable Bollywood-style sentimentality, and you’ve got “Don”: a slick, suave and mild crime-action-suspense drama, Indian-style. Filmed mainly in Malaysia, “Don” has a splash of all the Western-style trappings such as exotic locations, high-tech gadgets, ravishing city skyscrapers, dare-devil stunts, improbable action and radiant girls, yet the overall style and impression of the film is unexcited pleasantly subdued and refreshingly sophisticated, especially when compared to its American counterparts. This might be partly due to the very clever script with several unexpected twists and turns, as well as attention to the personal emotions of some of the characters, but let’s face it: how can you pick an indestructible drug-trafficking unpleasant guy like Don seriously when he breaks into a song and dance routine every 20 minutes?

Keeping faithful to the novel noted Seventies “Don”, it is most appropriate that the current Don is played by Mr Bachchan’s successor to the Bollywood throne: Shahrukh Khan, who manages to execute dreadful see frosty with the ease of a sneer and the flick of a cigarette. Go over, Tom Glide, Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis and `Big Arnie’ - Shahrukh Khan is all of these, and far more. A mega superstar in India for over a decade, Khan has played an impressively great range of diverse characters with his trademark dynamic, expressive and emotive manner which has made him incredibly approved with men, women and children viewers alike. Although some of his best-known films are glossy feel-good romance musicals in which he is the nice-guy hero (such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, Veer-Zaara and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham), I personally score his unpleasant guy and psycho roles far more challenging and challenging. In fact, he began his successful career with such tantalizing psycho/bad guy roles, (Darr, Baazigar, Ram Jaane, Anjaam) and in “Don” he is able to combine both great and awful characters as he plays a dual role: the bad-as-bad-can-be Don, and his real look-alike, harmless and innocent Vijay, who is recruited to encourage the police bring down Don’s crime gang. It sounds simple enough at first, but the area gets more alive to and engaging, until the final climactic twist takes your breath away. While in my personal concept Khan’s best dual performance is in “Duplicate”, a surprisingly worthy action-comedy from several years ago, his performance in “Don” is no less enchanting and appealing than his other successful roles. Some expertly-crafted music and choreography, as well as attention to photography and overall colour/lighting of the film are other highlights which enhance the legend and Shahrukh Khan’s character. Needless to say, “Don” is an indispensable addition to any Bollywood collection, and also a nice change for anyone with a taste for foreign films which have something original and different to offer. The packaging of this DVD is unbiased as slick and sophisticated as the movie, with advantageous photos and comments by cast and crew, a bonus disc of special features (although the 1-hour “Making of…” is without subtitles and a bit hard to follow) and for a special treat, try to secure the DVD (released in the UK) which has a thick amusing book with pictures straight from the movie.

Don is slick and well conceived on location with lots of surprises along the plan. When I was trying to work out originally whether this one was for me I wasnt determined how serious it was or whether it was a light Bollywood. For those who have the same interrogate in mind - it isnt really light overall.

Don is an arrogant psychopath drug trafficker - and I’m paralyzed, unlike other Bollywoods, trustworthy doesnt acquire in the demolish and the nasties dont meet their consequences. This may not particularly bother you or you may like endings that arent politically suitable. For those not in that category be aware that the surprise ending actually left me and my adult daughter feeling quite glum and gave us a restless nights sleep after. Those we had identitified with dont triumph (sorry about the spoiler but you may need to know that if you want to assess whether this is for you) .

I have given it a 5 because of its quality but a different ending would have made me more angry about this movie.

Given the amoral ending its enchanting that Indians wanted to do this movie twice (it is a remake of an earlier renowned one) and seem to cherish the character of Don.

The music was attractive but none of it stayed with me or stood out. A few of the dance sequences were first-rate so there was song and dance amongst the situation (something I also wasnt clear of when reading prior reviews) .

The political controversy over “The Day After” when it was first broadcast in 1983 had to do with the understanding that a television movie about a nuclear war was an indictment of the policies of the Reagan Administration. Of course “The Day After” was not an attack on a particular president, but rather it represented the liberal nightmare of the worst of all possible futures, with a tubby out nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union. Four years later the ultimate conservative nightmare was aired with the mini-series “Amerika,” in which the United States has been taken over by the Communists. Both were predicated on questionable assumptions, the used on an escalation of a conflict over Berlin and the later on the effects of an electro-magnetic pulse, but those were both simply excuses to whisper the epic that wanted to be told.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Day After! Click Here

Ultimately “The Day After” is not so considerable a chronicle as it is a depiction of what a nuclear war would be like that comes under the heading of “seeing is believing.” Prior to the airing of this television film Hollywood showed what it was like to live in the world after a nuclear war in films from “On the Beach” to “Furious Max Beyond Thunderdome,” suggested that a nuclear war would be so inferior that a president would tumble nuclear bombs on Unique York City rather than go to war in “Fail Great,” and ended the Icy War satire of “Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Halt Worrying and Care For the Bomb” with a series of atom bomb’s exploding residence to the celebrated song “We’ll Meet Again.” But what they did not prove was what that nuclear war would be like. Even the “Star Wars” universe assumed there would be a nuclear war some day, as did I, but depicting the horrors of such a war was never really done until “The Day After.”

However, exploding mushroom clouds and the victims of radiation poison were not what was most memorable about “The Day After.” The icon image from the film became the shots of the missiles taking off, with the people of Lawrence, Kansas looking up into the sky at the ICBMs headed towards the Soviet Union radiant that their missiles were heading for us. Suddenly it became definite that the good moment of alarm would be when you saw those missiles because chances were you would never gawk the mushroom cloud that took your life. In fact, given the choice between being incinerated and surviving long enough to explore your loved ones suffer horribly, I judge most people would hope for the hasty death. This film turned those last few minutes of life from the ragged joke about how you need to bend over, establish your head between your knees and kiss you ass goodbye into an enduring image of outright panic.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Day After! Click Here

The worst moments of this film are the painful period between the missiles taking off and the nukes exploding. One of the silos is lawful next to the Dahlberg farm, and the emotion nadir of the film is Denise Dahlberg (Lori Lethin) comes down the stairs holding the wedding dress she will never gain to wear and her father tells her to fetch into the storm cellar. Then Jim Dahlberg (John Cullum) has to go upstairs and pace his wife Eve (Bibi Besch) screaming and crying away from the bed she is making in a desperate attempt to pretend that the world is not coming to an demolish.

Jason Robards is Dr. Russell Oakes, who along with Nurse Nancy Bauer (JoBeth Williams) has to deal with the casualties following the detonations at a besieged hospital, and Stephen Klein (Steve Guttenberg) is the guy who takes refuge with the Dahlbergs. Joe Huxley (John Lithgow) is the college professor who gets to supply most of the relatively dinky amount of exposition the account requires: a student thinks they are capable because Kansas is in the middle of nowhere, but the professor is the one who points out “There’s no ‘nowhere’ anymore” since there is an Air Force inappropriate and 150 Minutemen Missile silos spread halfway down Missouri, all constituting “an bad lot of bullseyes.” When the missiles hold off he is the one who knows it takes thirty minutes to arrive their target, a fact that applies to the incoming missiles as well.

I remember the night of November 11, 1983 as I watched “The Day After” how ABC did not speed any commercials after the nukes went off and that true afterwards the network had a special news program in which Dr. Carl Sagan introduced us to the plan of a “nuclear winter” and the fact that the reality of a nuclear exchange would be noteworthy worse than we had seen. To say that this was a sobering opinion to give an audience that was already dejected by what they had seen, would be an understatement. Sagan, of course, was opposed to the expend of nuclear weapons and condemned the arms urge. Speaking on the other side, which is to say in favor of the understanding of nuclear deterrence, was William F. Buckley, Jr., and what we got to watch in that debate (which is collected available on video) was that both were legal.

It is rather extraordinary, given the history of humanity, that it has been almost sixty years since nuclear weapons have been veteran in war. Ironically, we now live in a world where we mild have that those weapons are going to be musty, although now we retract it will be the work of terrorists (or an attempt to end terrorists) and not a war between East and West. I would not be surprised if apt now Hollywood is kicking around ideas of what it would be like the day after that sort of nuclear detonation, going beyond what we saw in “The Sum of All Fears.” Hopefully it would be as successful at forestalling our worst nightmares as “The Day After” has been these many years.

When this made-for-TV movie came out, I remember being petrified out of my pants for days literally… The fact that this was at the height of the Frosty War era, and many people believed that Ronald Reagan was… well crazy enough and so were the Soviets made this broadcast so dependable. Oddly enough though, the British managed to outdo it with THREADS, which made me about twice as physically ill when it aired on TV.

The Broadcast was scary, and I remember after a panel of experts appearing on a special Nightline and a special call in to discuss issues. - - Could it happen? Could anyone survive? Would the living envy the boring? - - and even more horrifyingly the fact that one of the more controversial elements of the broadcast was the arguement that the broadcast presented an OPTOMISTIC belief of what it would be like to survive a nuclear holocaust.

Though honest a made for TV movie (in an era when made-for-TV movies were usually corny), I have found this broadcast to be the most disturbing movie I’ve ever scene because at the time it was such a accurate possibility. (Even now it is… but then you could really sense that the U.S. was at a “let’s peruse who blinks first” stand off with the Soviet Union.)

In conclusion, THE DAY AFTER actually wasn’t the first broadcast of its type… about 40 years earlier there was actually a radio drama centered around the aftermath of a Nuclear War called THE FIFTH HORSEMAN… check it out!!!

For some reason there remains a quandary with the video quality of Thomas Crown Affair. What we are mumble to be seeing is a novel transfer, ( I guess admitting that the prior version needed improvement) which in fact it did. This recent transfer isn’t quite what I was expecting, in fact it’s uneven or should I say unbalanced which gives a poor viewing experience. Anyone who purchases this DVD version expecting the ultimate quality version is in for a sizable let-down. This DVD is offered with the wide screen/ elephantine cover format. MGM appears to be looking in the rear conception mirror. With Plasma/LCD quality, why is MGM wasting time with marginal quality standards. This Batch will destroy up in the bargin bin. Assign your money and wait till next time.

Even in 1968, audiences knew The Thomas Crown Affair was a film of style over substance. It had an spicy premise dreamt up by a Boston Lawyer who had never written a screenplay before-and there wasn’t a lot of fable or character development. It’s the films’ style and gimmicks which endeared it to audiences. And the coolest of the frosty stars,Steve (I fade like a panther) McQueen, on the planet teamed up with the intelligent mix of earthy sultriness and ice princess that is Faye Dunaway at her peak.

So does this film own up? Is it worth watching? The first half hour of the film - - the robbery is peaceful an bright, stylish, enthralling sequence that few films will top in terms of hipness. It’s here the multiple mask gimmick works best. It’s here that Hal Ashby’s editing and Walter Hill’s second unit work is most impressive. It’s the best allotment of the film and it works beautifully. (Yes that’s future directors Hal Ashby and Walter Hill I honest mentioned) .

Affair is directed by Norman Jewison (a aged editor/turned director who had fair directed In the Heat of the Night, and The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming) . United Artists didn’t attach distinguished pressure or time constraints on Jewison, and Jewison took this very old-fashioned screenplay with an intelligent premise and worked with writer Alan R. Trustman to effect a sandbox for him and legendary cinematographer Haskell Wexler to play in. They were young, they were anxious to smash rules and try modern things and they happened to wind up at Montreal Expo 67 and in the audience of a ground-breaking multi-screen extravaganza called Habitat. Habitat was created by film/maker and graphic designer Pablo Ferro. Jewison, Wexler and Ashby had found the gimmick they were looking for. It wasn’t really until the film was in post production that they began putting together the multi-screen effects, and none of the film was story-boarded . A lot of improvisation was musty for the film.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Thomas Crown Affair! Click Here

The premise of the tale (for the few who don’t know) concerns a very wealthy corporate millionaire, Thomas Crown (Steve McQueen) who is so old to winning at every game he plays, he challenges himself by quietly setting up and master-minding a titanic bank robbery. It’s one of the things that amuses him, one of the few thrills he has in life, his scheme to rebel and bellow against his beget corporate greed.

The police are baffled, Paul Burke as top cop Eddie Malone is willing to work with a very original insurance investigator to smash the case. The investigator turns out to be Vicki Anderson (played by Faye Dunaway) . She earns ten percent of the money she recovers and she’s willing to do fair about anything and fracture all the rules to gather her money- which frustrates the by the book Eddie Malone.

Now there’s never mighty time taken with mature things like dialogue. Most of the characters screech in short phrases and sentences. The music is loud, intrusive, and certain. It’s musty throughout the film to drive the pacing of the scene or over-emphasize minor moments. Today it plays a bit more campy than it traditional to, but it’s a lot of fun.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Thomas Crown Affair! Click Here

Vicki Anderson rapidly decides that Thomas Crown must be the master-mind unhurried the bank robbery. She doesn’t really have any evidence, or really powerful of a reason to advance to this conclusion, but she does. The film expects you to pick up this. So the rest of the film is a cat and mouse game. Vicki and Thomas are glorious jet-setting type people and they are attracted to each other, flirt, beget adore, drink port, play chess (in an extremely coarse key erotic fashion), occupy unique fabricate, go for dune buggy rides, and sit in sauna’s together.

They both know however that they are adversaries.

McQueen’s acting is also very stylized. He pauses before making facial gestures. He laughs somewhat forced, and his every movement feels calculated. It works.

Although the film becomes less logical as it progresses, its inventive style held my attention throughout. And perhaps because of how dated it’s hip chicness is, it’s even more fun now, then when it was first released.

The re-make is actually a better film than this one. The screenplay is considerable better constructed, and the film is structured better as a primitive epic. But the first 30 minutes of this film is not easily topped, and Steve McQueen was a one of a kind conceal presence.

If your in the mood for a style over substance film from the unhurried 60’s complete with the title Academy Award Winning song Windmills of your Mind, you won’t be disappointed.

Both of these movies are based on the books by father and son historians Michael & Jeff Shaara. Gettysburg is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book “The Killer Angels”. No school library should be without these two fabulous films and the related books. These movies were filmed using reinactors and are very realistic and very halt to valid events. These films were made by Ted Turner and share of a trilogy. The third movie about the defeat of the Confederacy may or may not be completed (PLEASE Ted do the film!!) . A fourth movie “Andersonville” is about the atrocious southern prison camp (not for the squeamish!!) .

I cannot recommend these movies highly enough. They are Broad films for every American to understanding at least once so that they understand how dreadful the Civil War really was. Very appealing and not to be missed.

Since many of you reading this are likely familiar with the movies themselves, or the stories therein, I will refrain from repeating them here (as so many other reviewers have already done) . Allow me, though, to comment on the nature of the discs themselves and a brief summary of the vow therein.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Gettysburg / Gods and Generals! Click Here

First of all, this is an incredible value for the notice. Not only do you glean “Gettysburg,” which runs over 4 hours in length, but you also receive “Gods & Generals,” which is an additional three-and-a-half hours. When combined with the special features (interviews, documentaries, etc.), you have well over eight hours of Civil War film in one slender DVD case!

(Since it has both discs in one normal case, it will not engage up any additional room on your shelf. Additionally, the construction of said case will prevent the discs from sliding about and scratching on each other. I have yet to have any problems with either disc in removing or replacing it from it’s holder, as well) .

Regarding the screech, let me say first that the special features on both discs are impressive. There are no deleted scenes that I steal, but there are some colossal documentaries, maps, interviews, and bios for each movie.

As far as the movies themselves, “Gettysburg” is by far the better film. There are some astonishing performances on both sides of the blue and gray, particularly Richard Jordan’s last role, Stephen Lang, Jeff Daniels, Tom Berenger, Martin Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Kevin Conway, and Sam Elliot. In fact, it’s hard to point out any abominable performances at all. (Fuqua’s makeup wasn’t extraordinarily convincing, but otherwise, not a terrible J.E.B. Stuart) . What I also appreciated greatly was the equal treatment that each side is given. While we are introduced to more Confederate personalities than Union, there is equal cloak time given to both sides. As the main dramatic thrust comes from the Confederates (climaxing with Pickett’s Charge approach the waste of the film), it is understandable why more would be known and shown from their standpoint. Tranquil, Maxwell treats both sides fairly and with equal emotion. The recreation down to the finest detail was exemplary and a standard by which all historical films should follow.

I disagree with the decrying that is done over “Gods & Generals,” though, but I have to concede a few points. Perhaps most noticeable is the fact that instead of one battle, G&G spans two years almost and several key battles. Instead of focusing on a singular moment (as in “Gettysburg”), the film tries too hard to squeeze that distinguished history into a slightly shorter timeframe. Additionally, the movie definitely has a obvious Confederate slant to it. In some action sequences, the Union losses are exaggerated to comparative invincibility on the Confederate side. (This was somewhat honest at Fredericksburg, though, and that particular battle is quite dazzling to history) . There is certainly also considerable more Confederate whine, as the Union side is almost treated as a background player. Granted, the chronicle mainly revolves around Stonewall Jackson and his career in the war, but even major players like Lee are nearly glossed over, despite strong performances (including Robert Duvall’s as the aforementioned Lee) . Considering the tide of the war, as well as the timeline to that point, though, this is somewhat forgivable. There is the same attention to detail and accuracy that made “Gettysburg” so substantial, but it is nearly lost to the overwhelming slant that the film contains. (Supposedly, the final book in the Shaara trilogy, “The Last Plump Measure,” takes on the Union side more so than this film, but it remains to be seen whether or not that will ever be made) . I would like to add, though, that the opening sequence alone is worth picking up this film. Mary Fahl’s haunting and exciting song “Going Home” is station against a backdrop of various flags of regiments from both sides of the conflict. Though this equality in treatment is not carried through the film, the sequence itself is tantalizing and emotionally charged. As I said, the opening credits alone are worth viewing.

Overall, I highly recommend this dual collection. The main reason why I could not give this review five stars was for the shortcomings of “Gods & Generals.” Tranquil, that should not hamper your grasp of this incredible collection. For a very puny increase in heed (at last check), you can believe both films with a sizable total of over eight hours of footage (likely more than nine with all of the various extras) . Not only is this a ample bargain, but they are astonishing films as well. “Gettysburg” will long stand as the far better movie, as “Gods & Generals” might have attempted to overachieve, but they are amazing as educational tools and standards for military history cinema that will not soon recede away.

Secondly, I could accumulate nitpicky, but whether they released the edited “movie-ized” version of the pilot episodes or the genuine 5-part separate version doesn’t matter to me considerable. I’m fair gay this section of animation gold is finally out.

Thirdly, Talespin is the series that ruled all other series. It gets better and better each time I peruse it. It has that fun adventure feel that the Gummi Bears had. And unlike CNDRR, Ducktales, or Darkwing Duck it kept it stories edgy and inviting without over resorting to cutsie-wootsie episodes (except the Molly ones) . The myth revolved around a man-child (bear-cub) called Baloo. So while he was childish in nature the stories took set in the adult world for the most portion.

Finally, killer animation, huge characters, titillating twists on the roaring 20s/30s, and Baloo “The Greatest Beget Ever” produce this truly the crown jewel of Disney television animation.

As always the trouble with shows you loved as a kid: will it be as top-notch when you search for it as an adult? Alas, usually the acknowledge to that quiz is no.

However, my boyfriend and I took a chance on this DVD and I must say it is one demonstrate that retains its excellence all these years later! The animation is well-organized (not yet outsourced, I judge), the plots don’t have holes, and the jokes are laughable (and shapely!) . (Don Carnage- portrait of villainy, yes/no? )

I am hoping Duck Tails and Chip n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers are as superior a choose as Tail Straggle is.

Shizuha, Ayamo, Karin, and Mikaze’s characters aren’t really formed a whole lot in this first volume. Mikaze seems to have the most angst and most screentime. She comes from a family of pilots and has been held up to a higher standard than the other girls. It’s like she always pushed into being a pilot so now she’s wondering what SHE wants to do with her life. The plight is that while she’s distracted and inattentive during training, her lack of enthusiasm might cause someone to lose their life. Ayamo is the titular wanna-be leader of the group and is dedicated to getting into site and being a Comet Blaster. Needless to say, she has a lot of frustration about Mikaze’s failure to live up to her potential. Shizuha, for now honest seems like a Yes-woman for Ayamo who doesn’t have a very strong will. Lastly, Karin spends most of her time sending text messages on her cell-phone. She seems smart, but a tiny lackadaisical in normal life. Advantageous thing that she’s all business in the cockpit.

The first volume is mainly honest the setup for the rest of the series. It follows the girl’s daily lives as they step up from being observers of others risking their lives to the girls in fat participation defending the Earth from a deadly threat. There’s lots of humor and shades of fan service and some huge adventure here. The inquire is whether or not the girls can primitive enough mentally to handle the disaster of their duty. Nevermind why only young boys and girls could acquire these roles. This is an anime.

Highly recommended. I didn’t assume it was going to be a sterling series at first, but as I got to know the characters, I became more interested and now I judge it’s astronomical.

Astronomical music here too, from pop songs to orchestral, and the art is genuine.

There’s a couple of nice extras on the dvd, including a video segment as two of the Japanese converse actresses, the director, and character designer use a day sightseeing the staunch Shimoji Island, the plot of the Stratos 4 detestable. There is also an comic segment where a slightly toothless “military commentator” explains the dependable basis for the vehicles in the series. Especially enlightening is his explanation as to why the girls have to straddle their seats in the jets like a motorcycle, causing their butts to stick in the camera’s lens. Also includes dapper open/closes and brief bios of the English actors.

Can’t wait for Flight 2.

Hello Fellow Customers…

I objective finished a Hours Long Marathon of Stratos 4, and I impartial would like to pass my impression here.

At first I unbiased bought the series for I liked the artwork and songs, but I was not that determined about the chronicle itself, and the TV here in Brasil is showing one ep per week, wich is very boring indeed (I saw up to the 3rd when decided to select the series) .

Well, after watching the first known ones and going to the unknown ones to me, I got engrossed in the spot, and unprejudiced went all the intention to the destroy, and I need to say, grasp this series. The artwork is very beautifull, the songs are first rate, and the epic has an curious twist at the kill, wich I will not allege to not spoil the fun.

Of course the extinguish, although gratified, leaves a taste of “so what…” and should have being extended, up to 26 eps at least, for the yarn peaks up by the 10 ep, meaning, at the very raze, making things rushed.

But this is a very grand anime.

And one extra here…The artwork reminds me a lot Studio Gonzo style (Gourgeous to the very last minute/scene) but nothing is said about it at least where I was able to understand…But then, on one scene, on “Go Gate” you will examine two very inviting guests: Meia and Dita from Vandread!!!No mistakes here…They were on Shimoji Island, and having fun… a cute crossover here, and a strong telltale that this anime has something indeed to do with Studio Gonzo…

I bought the asian Complete Box Series, but I screech you to grasp the american release, as the legends are not that generous, and the image is not par up with a domestic DVD….

Best Regards

Claudio

Charisma Carpenter is such a talented actress and fine woman. This movie, seen many times on ABC Family and now on DVD is so well do together and highlights Charisma’s acting ability. She should do more movies like this. I do my best to conception all movies that I know she is in. She is more talented then many so called actresses on cover today she puts them to shame. The movie is fair a pleasure to peruse.

Having read the recent, I decided it was time to recognize the film. However I must admit that I was never a fan of Charisma Carpenter, but I really enjoyed her in this film.

The book maybe more detailed, but the film is beautiful mighty fair on. However I am suprised that they cast Holly Marie Combs in the role of Natasha Nutley….but she’s very wonderful in the role and has a very nice wardrobe.

I would recommend this film for anyone who has needs a laugh or has gone through the hell of dating..haha
